We have some amazing members at Armor! To recognize and celebrate each other, we’ve decided to have a different coach each month pick two members they’d like to highlight. The coaches will express why they’re choosing the members and we’ll have an opportunity to learn more about the selectees in a blog post. Thank you for being a part of our community! This month’s members were chosen by Coach Jess K.

Ashley is a consistent and hard-working member. She is constantly working on her technique and movement, and always trying to get better and stronger. And more importantly, she is always a kind and happy friend, even at 6 am! Always encouraging her fellow members and spreading kindness!!

What motivates you the most, and why?


I am motivated by my passion to continue to learn and my desire to be better than I was yesterday.


What’s your favorite Crossfit or Olympic lifting movement, and why?


I really enjoy the deadlift. It feels fun to do! It always surprises me how much weight I can lift. I’m proud of myself for how much progress I’ve made with it!

What is your favorite healthy snack? Unhealthy snacks?


Favorite healthy snack is mixed roasted veggies. Favorite unhealthy snack is Reese’s.

What is your favorite part of being a member at Armor?


My favorite part about being a member at Armor is the feedback and direction I receive from the coaches during the workouts. I value all the help!

Ben has been a long-time member at Armor. Transitioning from CrossFit to Olympic weightlifting he has been a dedicated athlete, rarely missing a day and never complaining. Ben has grown tremendously as an athlete and member at Armor. He is always willing to offer help and advice to a fellow lifter and volunteers in our OLY meet and even during the CrossFit Open, and tries to always participate in our community events! We are glad to have him as part of our community!

What motivates you the most, and why?

Setting personal goals motivates me to try and achieve them and have something to work towards.


What’s your favorite Crossfit or Olympic lifting movement, and why?   

My favorite movement is hang snatch, I like snatches but not pulling from the floor (haha).   


What is your favorite healthy snack? Unhealthy snacks?  

I don’t really snack that much… I guess I would say for a healthy snack a protein shake, and non-healthy snack would be Oreos for sure. 


What is your favorite part of being a member at Armor?

The community, I have been coming here for a long time and there are a lot of people who have been here for years, and everyone is good people.
